Red Loft was appointed by Network Housing Group to advise on the redevelopment of two tower blocks on the Stockwell Park Estate, in Brixton, south London.
The dated 1960s buildings, Wayland House and Abermarle House, are set to be demolished and replaced by high quality, new builds, as part of the housing group's £130 million estate regeneration programme.
Red Loft project managed the consultation and planning phases of the development. We liaised with local residents and stakeholders and used the intelligence gathered to influence the design, financial and social aspects of the project. This led to planning permission being granted for both buildings in late 2012.
Once completed, Abermarle will provide 92 one and two bedroom apartments in a contemporary nine storey building. Meanwhile Wayland will comprise 157 homes in a modern 20 storey tower, half for affordable rent and half for commercial sale.
