At Red Loft, our success is driven by the amazing people who work here and today we’re shining a spotlight on our Development Consultancy Director, Tom Shewry.

Tom has been working in the housing sector for over 19 years with an impressive track record of Project Management and Development Programme Management.

At Red Loft, he leads our Development Consultancy Team, overseeing a range of large, mixed-tenure and mixed-use projects with contract values exceeding £250m.

Some of Tom’s project highlights include his work with Peabody, securing a successful planning determination for their former Holloway Prison site in Islington, and obtaining planning consent and letting the main contract for the Heathside and Lethbridge Estate in LB Lewisham.

Tom has also played a crucial role in mentoring smaller Registered Providers, helping them navigate the complexities of development—from site identification and community engagement to planning and construction. Additionally, he’s been instrumental in securing vital funding from the GLA and HE, whilst also ensuring that client policies and procedures are compliant with the latest guidance and best practice.

Beyond his project successes, Tom has made a lasting impact through his involvement in Red Loft’s graduate programme, helping to shape and retain our next generation of talent.
